BUDDING artists from across the region have their work on display at the Cardinia Cultural Centre this week.
GippsTAFE visual arts students opened their own exhibition at the centre on Saturday which will run until 10 October.
The In the Spirit of Art exhibition invited students to investigate spirituality as an inspirational thought process.
Teacher Peter Biram said the interpretation of the theme differed widely from one student to the next.
“That’s the magic of it. One person’s definition of spirituality will be about religion or faith while another’s definition may not even include religion,” he said.
GippsTAFE student painter Denise Campbell agreed.
“The objective of this exhibition is not to identify or ascertain the meaning of spirituality but to inspire your personal thought process,” she said.
In the Spirit of Art is the second GippsTAFE student exhibition at the Cardinia Cultural Centre this year.
Mr Biram said the community response to his students’ artwork had been encouraging.
“We’ve had some great feedback.
“People have said we’ve given a sense of colour and character to the building,” he said.
