THE Endeavour Hills War Memorial will undergo a $4000 facelift as part of a Federal Government funding allocation.
The project will result in the completion of the war memorial with the installation of steps and connecting pavements to improve access.
The money was awarded under the Federal Government’s Saluting Their Service program and announced by Victorian Senator Mitch Fifield.
“It is important to honour the service and sacrifice of those who have served Australia in wars, conflicts and peace operations,” Senator Fifield said.
The Endeavour Hills War Memorial is in Heatherton Road, next to McDonald’s and will be the scene of one of Casey’s Anzac Day services on 25 April.
Hundreds flocked to the site last year for the suburbs first service including St Paul Apostle South, Eumemmerring Secondary College’s Gleneagles campus and Maranatha Christian College students.
“I congratulate the City of Casey on their successful application and I am pleased that the Government has been able to support this project,” Senator Fifield said.
