STUDENTS from Pakenham Consolidated School were celebrating last week after taking out a water-saving gardens design competition.
Up against hundreds of other schools, the team at Pakenham Consolidated captured the eye of the judges with their entries demonstrating impressive water-saving techniques paired with stunning landscape design.
They won for their school a water-wise garden makeover which will help improve the grounds at the school and also serve as a reminder of the importance of conservation.
The competition, an initiative of Peet Limited, encouraged children to learn more about the importance of water conservation and to become more aware about water-saving practices.
Participating students were invited to design their own water-saving gardens using any medium.
The competition received an impressive response with nearly 2000 students across 23 schools taking part.
