AFTER months of planning and preparation, the Cardinia Relay for Life Committee are on the home straight.
This Friday 26 February, hundreds are expected to take to Toomuc Reserve to participate in the overnight event to raise money for the Cancer Council.
Kicking off the relay will be an opening ceremony, with Member for Bass Brian Paynter acting as MC before Cardinia Shire’s 2016 Citizen of the Year Ron Ingram cuts the ribbon to mark the start of the 18-hour event.
The Cardinia relay is one of over 200 events that will be held around Australia this year, with thousands participating to show their support and solidarity for this worthy cause.
Special guest Wally Wombat will also be in attendance from 5.45pm on Friday until 11am on Saturday.
The committee invites all residents of Cardinia Shire to get involved in the relay, whether it be through participation, donation or encouragement on the night.
