THE next time you need to deposit a cheque or organise a loan in Cardinia Shire, have a look around – art now covers the walls.
The Cardinia Art Society (CART) has infiltrated Bendigo Banks throughout Cardinia with their latest project – Micro Art.
Bringing art to the forefront of the community’s mind, the Micro Art project features the work of 16 artists from in and around the Cardinia area, including local luminaries such as Sue Jarvis and Geoff Sargeant.
“We’re really pleased with the high quality of the work” said Annette Slattery, the president of CART.
“The artists involved are all highly accomplished and their work represents a wide variety of styles and techniques.
“The whole idea is to bring art to the community rather than lock it way in galleries,” explained CART secretary Jillian Ronald.
“We also want to involve the business community in supporting local art so we’re really pleased to have the Bendigo Bank on board, supporting us and the local artists”, Jillian said.
Micro Art is being featured in four Bendigo Banks – Bunyip, Kooweerup, Pakenham and Lakeside.
