A kind of courage

RE: “Rainbow of Pain” (News, 2 July), Cr Crestani’s stand against same-sex marriage is to be applauded, she is not a bigot, she is somebody who has the courage of her convictions.
Homosexuality has nothing to do with genetics, it is freedom of choice and the motivates are many and varied. History is witness to the failure of many civilisations who practised sodomy and history has a habit of repeating itself.
What in our society has changed? The answer is: The morality and values of the Western World. Public opinion in the ’60s and ’70s was influenced by popular culture, so it is today. Judeo-Christian principals, honesty, family values, respect for the state, honesty and loyalty have all been eroded, often beyond recognition.
