PAKENHAM Beaconhills student Jessica has conquered roller-skating and is pursuing her passion for dance.
The Year 5 student began artistic roller skating when she was eight years old and trained for two and half hours three nights a week and on Saturdays.
She had been training under World Champion coach Jayson Sutcliffe and went to the State Championships in May.
After taking out the Victorian championship two years in a row, she was ready to seek new horizons.
“I gave up artistic roller skating after the Victorian Championships because I have wanted to do dance since I was three,” Jessica said.
“I love to dance!”
She is now enrolled at Narre Warren’s Backstage Dance Academy and is learning ballet, jazz, tap, contemporary, modern, hip-hop, singing, acting and tumbling.
With this more than full plate, she has already been invited to the intermediate troupe and competed in her first dance competition.
The talented youngster says she would love one day to dance, sing and act, teach dance or be a ballerina.
“I just want to keep trying and have fun, because if I keep working hard I know I will get there,” Jessica said.
