POLICEhave arrested a teenager after an assault at Noble Park train station.
On Tuesday 9 January, a 20-year-old man was making a call on a pay phone at Noble Park train station at 9.35pm.
Police said he was approached and asked for money, and upon refusing was assaulted by more than one person.
Police said the man’s wallet was stolen and an attempt was made to steal his backpack.
The man was taken to Dandenong Hospital for treatment for swelling, bruising and cuts to the head.
A 21-year-old woman, who tried to break-up the assault, was treated at the scene by paramedics for grazes to the knee and a sore head.
•Police this week charged a 17-year-old Narre Warren teenager with robbery and affray.
He will appear before Melbourne Children’s Court this week. A 14-year-old boy from Carrum was interviewed and released pending further investigations.
