Class of the century

DEVON Meadows Primary School will celebrate its centenary next year and organisers want to track down all past students, staff and families to help commemorate the occasion.
President of the school council Rebecca Griffiths wants any past members of the school to come forward and be part of the celebrations which are planned for March next year.
“From humble beginnings in 1916 with 45 students and one school building to today with 220 students, new buildings and playground areas, Devon Meadows Primary School is still a beautiful little country school,” she said.
“Many past students and staff have fond memories of their time at the school and count their time here as some of the best years in their lives.”
Ms Griffiths said there is a centenary reunion dinner planned which will be held on Saturday 19 March at Settlers Run Golf and Country Club, with some former students and staff members appearing as guest speakers on the night.
An open day market will run prior to this on Sunday 28 February from 10am until 3pm.
Ms Griffiths said the school buildings will be open for everyone to roam around and see the changes which have occurred at the school over the past 100 years.
Guests will also have the chance to order the centenary book and add their time to the centenary tree.
There will be stallholders on the day as well as students who will have their side show alley stalls.
A barbecue as well as a cake stall will also be open, and everyone is welcome.
If anyone would like to be part of the celebrations they can contact Ms Griffiths on 0402 687 787.
