PAKENHAM residents are encouraged to head down to Barbertown this Saturday and support two brave ladies who are aiming to raise $2500 by losing their hair.
Sharna Major and friend Steff Craig have already raised in excess of $900 for the Leukaemia Foundation’s Shave for a Cure.
And they’ll be the centre of attraction at Pakenham Marketplace from 1pm as they embrace the clippers for a cause.
Centre marketing manager Rebecca Owen said both ladies had witnessed the devastating effects leukaemia can have on families and were keen to make a difference.
“They are both regular customers of the marketplace,” she said.
“And both been touched by leukaemia in the past.
“Barbertown have been involved in the past with Shave for a Cure so it’s great to have them on board too.”
Sharna said it was a very small price to pay to raise awareness and funds for an important cause.
“What’s hair when you are talking about people’s lives?“
Residents can come down and make a donation at her fundraising table at the top of the escalator from 9am Saturday.
