THE Bayles community is in shock after a man’s body was found at a two storey house on Kooweerup-Longwarry Road about 2.30pm on Monday, near the Bayles Wildlife Shelter.
The Homicide Squad said the cause of the man’s death has yet to be determined.
A next door neighbour said the victim, believed to be in his 70s, was a quiet man who kept to himself.
“I only ever saw him when he was working on his boat, mowing his grass or down the street,” he said.
“I’m hoping it’s not a robbery gone wrong, although we’ve had no problems with crime in the area.”
Neither of the neighbours had seen any suspicious activity on the property.
