Hamper relief

By ANEEKA SIMONIS

DOZENS of families breathed a sigh of relief earlier this week after getting a much-needed hand by a local charity group ahead of Christmas.
Crisis relief centre 4Cs in Pakenham distributed hundreds of Christmas hampers to struggling families across the shire at Outlook Community Centre on Tuesday 16 December.
Plenty of families finding it hard to make ends meet were thankful to bag a hamper, which included a generous amount of food and toys for kids.
The day of good cheer was also facilitated by a range of volunteers including 12-year-old Wilso, who helped carry the hampers to people’s cars.
4Cs Operations manager Abiola Ajetomobi said the hampers allowed families to enjoy Christmas.
“Hamper distribution means that up to 1000 families can be rest assured that the much- needed items for Christmas meals and toys for the kids are taken care of,” she said.
“With crisis becoming really complex and unique to each household, 4Cs is committed to giving hope to families that will otherwise struggle during this season.”
