AN OFFICER timber company has shamed a thief, who stole expensive tools from its store, over social media last week.
Van Steensel Timbers Pty Ltd captured CCTV footage of a man wearing a black hoodie as he stole two Paslode nail guns from the shop.
Staff later posted the footage on the company’s Facebook page.
The images show the man stole the nail guns between 12.30am and 12.45am on Friday 5 December.
The timber store publicly suggested the man may be a customer.
“He knew exactly what he wanted and where to get it which means he has been in our store before!” the company posted on its Facebook page.
The post has been shared more than 400 times.
Pakenham police confirmed they were speaking to a suspect but the man was later cleared of all inquiries on Wednesday 10 December.
Police are appealing for information about the man.
