A WOMAN and young child were inside a Cranbourne home when a shot was allegedly fired during an altercation last Monday.
The incident at the Tucker Street home resulted in the arrest of two men, who were nabbed by police in the car park of Cranbourne McDonald’s a short time after the shot was fired.
It is alleged that a 39-year-old man from Craigieburn attended the house with a long-arm weapon at around 11am on Monday, before struggling with the male occupant of the house.
The gun, which was later recovered by police, was then believed to have been discharged, before the men left the house in separate cars.
Both men sustained minor injuries in the altercation, although the woman and child were unscathed.
Victoria Police Ballistics Unit attended the scene.
The 39-year-old Craigieburn man, who was arrested at gunpoint in the car park, was remanded in custody to appear at the Dandenong Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday morning.
The other man was released pending further investigation.
Police would like any witnesses to the incident in Tucker Street to come forward and phone Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
