PAKENHAM SES fielded 33 calls for assistance in less than 24 hours as windy, wet weather struck Cardinia earlier this week.
Unit controller Andrew Graham said the damage on Tuesday evening and afternoon was mostly confined to Kooweerup and Pakenham.
“We got 25 call outs on Tuesday night, mostly for blocked gutters due to the hail and some leaky roofs, it was mostly in Pakenham and Kooweerup,” he said.
“Koowerup Hospital also received a lot of hail on their roof,” he said.
The SES fielded eight calls on Monday night for fallen trees.
The Bureau of Meteorology revealed 3mm of rain fell at its Cranbourne weather station on Tuesday.
The Pakenham Gazette was inundated with pictures from readers with one car in Genoa Court copping the brunt of the hail.
Another reader, who works at Officeworks, said the shop was flooded out and staff worked until 2am cleaning up.
