Thanks again

THE Berwick RSL sub branch would like to sincerely thank everyone who supported our Anzac Appeal and commemoration services this year.
It is heartening to our veterans, their families and the widows of veterans to see and experience this support.
We especially thank the City of Casey, The Rotary Club of Narre Warren, Narre Warren police and the many schools and community groups for their generous assistance in helping to maintain the memory of those who died for their country.
All veterans will be the first to refute any suggestion that Anzac day glorifies war in any way.
We know, personally, the terrible nature and ultimate futility of war.
The inclusion of The Requiem in our services defines Anzac Day as a memorial funeral service for those who ‘shall grow not old as we that are left grow old’. Nothing more, nothing less.
Lest We Forget.
Ray Heathcote,
President, Berwick RSL sub branch.
