A RELAXED afternoon garden tea party was exactly what the Leeuw family needed.
On Saturday, family friend Lynne Moynihan ran a fundraiser at her house in Pakenham to raise money to help the Leeuws’ medical expenses.
Bec, mum to two-and-a-half-year-old triplets, has been battling breast cancer.
Lynne said the fundraiser went well.
“We had about 150 attend including many children,” she said.
“The band The Love Cats played easy listening music and could not have been more suitable for a relaxed afternoon garden tea party.”
There was also the open garden at Meryl and Keith Waterhouse’s next door.
“The weather was perfect and the cakes, slices and scones were scrumptious, along with the very popular sausage sizzle,” Lynne said.
“The fundraiser for Bec including donations given before the big day totalled $4700.
“There were many helpers on the day and they all contributed to making the day a great success.”
