MOTORISTS will see a change on the Healesville-Koo Wee Rup Road in Pakenham South.
Bass MP Ken Smith said the road would undergo pavement reconstruction works as part of a $170 million State Government investment in Victoria’s roads.
“Healesville-Koo Wee Rup Road is an inter-regional arterial road linking two major highway corridors, carrying residential, industrial and tourist traffic,” he said.
“Works will include strengthening the underlying road structure, resurfacing the road and reinstating the line marking.
“These improvements will ensure safer and smoother drive for motorists, as well as reducing the need for frequent maintenance.”
The works are planned to start in early 2014.
Mr Smith said the $170 million repair and restore package will be delivered across the state over three years.
“Making this significant commitment over the course of three years will give certainty which will lead to better decisions about the timing and type of maintenance to be carried out,” he said.
