OPPORTUNISTIC thieves used a two-hour vacancy at an Endeavour Hills house to go on a stealing spree last Thursday.
Police said the Preston Avenue house was unoccupied between 10.30pm on 17 August and 12.30am on 18 August when thieves forced the rear door and stole items valued at $5500.
Among the items stolen were a DVD player, television, satellite dish, jewellery, blankets and bed sheets.
Narre Warren Detective Senior Sergeant Ian Wilcox said there is a range of security measures house owners could look at to minimise the risk of being burgled.
“Alarms, security shutters and security lights all make your house more secure,” he said.
