A NEW recreation strategy for the community’s future sports and recreational activities is on the cards.
The draft strategy will direct the Cardinia Shire Council in providing for the community’s future sport and recreation needs.
It will cover areas including facilities, programs, policies, asset management and recreation services.
Mayor Brett Owen encouraged residents to have their say on the draft strategy.
“The recreation strategy will help guide the future of sport and recreation in our shire over the next 10 years, so it will have a big impact on the community’s overall health and well-being,” he said.
“Council encourages residents and groups to contact us and have a say on what they would like to see in the draft strategy.
“Please get in touch and tell us what is working well, what could be improved and what you want to see provided to meet your future sport and recreation needs.”
Residents can help shape the draft strategy by providing their input at www.cardinia.vic.gov.au/haveyoursay, emailing recreation@cardinia.vic.gov.au or by posting a submission to PO Box 7, Pakenham VIC 3810. The closing date for all submissions is Saturday 31 August.
