Blue Light shines

By DANIELLE GALVIN

THE Pakenham Blue Light disco is going from strength to strength.
President of the committee Geoff Young said the discos started in the shire 19 months ago.
“We have gained a committee that are really well and truly working together,” he said.
“Everyone is to be congratulated, we have had a committed positive team who have all worked together so well.”
He said the first four discos were held under the banner of the Narre Warren Blue Light to see if it was going to be a viable project for the shire.
“Pakenham Blue Light has attracted from 150 to 180 kids per event which has been great to see,” he said.
The dates for the next two discos include 13 September, 13 December and for next year they are 28 March, 20 June, 12 September and 12 December.
Mr Young thanked the committee and the supporters of the ongoing events.
“What a year it has been – it has been a privilege and delight to serve as your president, thank your for your support and trust throughout the year.”
Mr Young encouraged young people to come along to the next blue light disco. Students in Years 5-8 can come along to the Pakenham Hall, entry is $5.
Canteen and cloakroom facilities available and there are many door prizes to be won.
The event is supervised by police officers and volunteers.
