Skaters get the works

SKATEBOARDERS in Narre Warren will be able to practice their kick-flips, ollies and grinds on a much improved skate park at Ray Bastin Reserve.
The skate park will be undergoing improvement works in June and July, following Casey council’s recent refurbishments undertaken in February to the reserve’s playground.
City of Casey Mayor Cr Amanda Stapledon said the works would improve the facilities at the popular skate park and will also increase safety.
“Ray Bastin Reserve is very popular among residents and for good reason,” Cr Stapledon said.
“It boasts extensive play and leisure facilities, including a large playground and sand pit, two barbecue areas, a BMX track, a skate facility and a Liberty Swing. During the works, the skate park will be closed to the public for approximately one week.”
Other nearby skate parks include Buchannan Park Skate Facility, Buchanan Park, Clyde Road, Berwick (Melway Ref: 111C9) and Merinda Park Skate Facility, Cranbourne North (Melway Ref: 129F8).
For updated information on the status of works, please contact City of Casey Customer Service on 9705 5200.
