PAKENHAM women making the pledge to improve their fitness are also doing a good deed for charity.
Curves Women’s Fitness and Weightloss recently waived its joining fee for new gym members who donated a bag of non-perishable items, such as canned beans, soup or tuna, between 12 and 17 March. Current gym members could also donate items, and the response has been enormous.
The can drive will benefit the 4Cs (Cardinia Combined Churches Caring) Food Bank.
Food bank spokesperson Sue Friend welcomed the initiative and encouraged other Pakenham businesses to do the same.
She thanked gym goers for their support.
“Any help we can get is most welcome,” Ms Friend said.
