CHILDREN in Pakenham will be in seventh heaven these school holidays with special shows by The Wiggles and Possum Magic: The Musical.
The Wiggles will park the Big Red Car at Cardinia Cultural Centre on Thursday 4 July as part of their national ’Taking Off’ tour.
After 21 years of entertaining children around the globe, it’s the beginning of an exciting new era for The Wiggles as they introduce their new team.
New wiggly friends will include red Wiggle Simon, the yellow Wiggle Emma and purple Wiggle Lachy.
But old friends like Dorothy the Dinosaur, Captain Feathersword, Wags the Dog, Henry the Octopus and of course original Blue Wiggle Anthony will be there too to dance and sing along to Hot Potato, Rock-a-Bye Your Bear and all the Wiggles’ hits.
“It’s such a great way to start the year,” blue Wiggle Anthony said. “There’s so much energy with these young guys. We introduced Simon, Emma and Lachy on the Celebration tour around the world and audiences loved them and I’m so excited to be heading out on the road across Australia so that all our Wiggly fans can meet the new team.”
As The Wiggles introduce new friends, Possum Magic is saying goodbye.
After 30 years of the classic book and more than 20 years on stage, ‘Possum Magic: the Musical’ is touring Australia for the last time, and Pakenham is among the stops.The story of Hush the little possum is told with larger than life-size puppets and a cast of talented performers in a rollicking Aussie musical, complete with lamingtons, pavlovas and vegemite sandwiches!
Tickets for both shows at Cardinia Cultural Centre will sell like ’hot potatoes’ so get in quick.The Wiggles: Taking Off will have three shows on Thursday 4 July at 10am, 12.30pm and 3pm; tickets are $32.50.
Possum Magic: the Musical will have two shows on Monday 8 July at 10am and 11.30am; tickets are $18.
