Climate on breakfast menu

INTERNATIONALLY acclaimed scientist, conservationist and climate change commentator Tim Flannery will be the guest speaker at the next Casey Cardinia Breakfast, to be held on 19 June.
Registrations are now open for the event with local businesses invited to come along and be inspired by the 2007 Australian of the Year.
The City of Casey, Cardinia Shire Council, Monash University and Melbourne Football Club welcome local business owners in the Casey and Cardinia municipalities to use the event to network with like-minded people in the community to grow their business through education and inspiration.
City of Casey Mayor Amanda Stapledon said the breakfast would provide a great opportunity for business owners to gain an insight into the effects of climate change by the Chief Commissioner of the Australian Climate Commission.
“Tim believes that human activity is significantly affecting the earth’s climate, and predicts these changes will have a devastating effect on the planet,” she said.
“He will bring his important message to a local level and focus on the impact climate change will have on businesses in the Casey Cardinia region.”
The Business Breakfast Series will bring local businesses together in a co-operative and unified manner.
“I encourage businesses to attend this great local event and take advantage of the unique opportunity to meet and mix with other businesses in Casey and Cardinia,” Cr Stapledon said.
The breakfast will be held from 7am to 9am at the Cardinia Cultural Centre Lakeside Boulevard, Pakenham, on Wednesday 19 June.
Registrations close on 14 June and bookings can be made at www.trybooking.com/45483.
