Art for everybody’s sake

FREE workshops aimed at promoting participation in the arts for people of all abilities are on this weekend.
The Arts for Life for All Abilities workshops will take place tomorrow (Friday 24 May) at the Old Cheese Factory in Berwick, and on Saturday at the Balla Balla Community Centre.
City of Casey Mayor Amanda Stapledon said that the event was open to all abilities, however would be of particular interest to people working in disability services, carers, people with a disability and those looking to take part in a new arts experience.
“Arts for Life is an exciting new initiative which aims to promote participation in the arts for people of all abilities,” she said.
“Many of the workshops will be run by local artists who have completed Arts Access Victoria’s training program, which trains local arts facilitators and teachers to cater for people with a disability in their regular programs.
“The professional development training program provided artists with the knowledge to expand on their skills and services, allowing them to become leaders in arts facilitation for people of all abilities.”
To book your place contact City of Casey Customer Service on 9705 5200 or visit www.artsforlifefriday.eventbrite.com.au (for Friday) or www.artsforlifesaturday.eventbrite.com.au (for Saturday).
