Chipping in to boost business

By BRIDGET SCOTT

LOCAL residents are uniting to share ideas and help one another improve their businesses.
Established in 2005, the Women Making It Work Network (WMIW) is a locally based group.
This group provides opportunities for business men and women from both Casey and Cardinia to network with one another.
It is also aimed at giving local business owners from all different career paths the chance to gain knowledge and experience from each other.
The network facilitates a program of training and networking events which run throughout the year.
WMIW primarily targets owners and operators of local businesses, but everyone who is part of a company is encouraged to take part and contribute to the success of the group.
Since its launch eight years ago, WMIW has held monthly events, including a number of networking launches, evening workshops, business breakfasts and more.
A spokesperson for the group said it helped ’build lasting relationships with other members,’ and it was ’a unique networking opportunity.’
Those involved in co-ordinating the group are aware not every member can make it to each event, and are mindful of maintaining an informal, yet proffesional group. The next event for the group is a business breakfast at Sage, a restaurant in Berwick. For more information about the group or to become a member, visit www.wmiw.com.au
