TEN shoplifters were nabbed in three days last week following a joint operation between police and Coles Myer.
Operation Lift targeted four stores at Fountain Gate Shopping Centre, Narre Warren – Coles, Bi-Lo, Target and K-Mart.
Acting Senior Sergeant Nicholas Vallas of Narre Warren Police said of the 10 people caught, three were aged between 10 and 18.
He said the three youths had received police cautions, but the other seven would now be charged via summons with theft.
“Police, in support of retailers, targeted a number of stores simultaneously and we will probably do it again,” he said.
“We are also keen to try and apprehend the more professional thieves.”
Among the stolen items were food, batteries and men’s shaving equipment.
