PAKENHAM SES plans to be fully operational at the new police and emergency service complex by early January.
The $11 million complex on the Princes Highway is already home for the police and will also be a new headquarters for the CFA which will remain in John Street until after the fire season.
SES spokesman Michael Bates said the group’s relocation from its old Purton Road base to the new complex will be the first major project for the SES in the new year.
Mr Bates said: “2007 will hold many challenges for Pakenham SES, including the relocation.
“It is anticipated that Pakenham SES will be fully operational from the complex when training returns on Monday, 15 January.”
Mr Bates said Pakenham SES members thanked the community for its support over the past 12 months and urged drivers to take care over the holiday period.
The SES held its final training night for the year on Monday, 11 December.
