MORE than 140 people participated in the 18th Annual Riding of the Bounds event on 23 April, in which the Hotspur Trophy for Champion Rider Award was awarded to Teaghan Boothroyd, riding Hey Hey.
Casey mayor Kevin Bradford congratulated all the winners and riders for taking part in the historic event, which involves riders on horseback or in horse-drawn vehicles travelling together to inspect and secure the City of Casey boundaries.
“Riding of the Bounds is one of Casey’s annual highlights and brings together riders of all disciplines. The spectacle celebrates a tradition that has been held in the City of Casey’s sister city, Berwick-upon-Tweed, Northumberland, UK, for over 550 years,” he said.
