THE local employment scene is set for a major boost with up to 80 jobs on offer to local residents at the Cardinia LiFE community information night next Monday at 7pm.
The new Aquatic and Recreation Centre is set to open midyear and will hold the information session at the Cardinia Cultural Centre to explain to potential employees what the complex is looking for.
Complex manager Michelle Young said the centre had a range of jobs to be filled and was keen to attract local people to the positions.
“We have some full and part-time vacancies and also a number of casual positions available and we are really looking for people in the community to apply for these jobs,” Ms Young said.
The information night will explain to potential staff the values of the YMCA and outline the number of different activities that will be on offer to the public when the centre opens.
“We are looking for people who have the right values and qualities that will suit a YMCA environment,” Ms Young said.
“Positions available include aquatic education teachers, members and guest service personnel, pool life guards, health club instructors, childcare workers and cleaners.”
Cardinia LiFE will provide a range of sports, health and recreational options for people from throughout the shire and will cater for all ages, abilities and interests.
