A RECORD crowd turned out for the Anzac Day dawn service at Pakenham.
Salvation Army captain Chris Garcia conducted the brief, but compelling, service.
The large number of children at the event was particularly pleasing for Pakenham RSL president Norm Joseph.
Among the ex-soldiers at the service was Haughtrie ‘Harry’ Crick who served on the frontline in Tobruk during World War II.
Mr Crick said Anzac Day always brought back a lot of memories.
“There are a lot of things you don’t forget, some you would like to forget, but I always like to think about the good things,” he said.
Forget them? Never!
