Bowls doubleheader

LAST weekend was a double-header for the RVBA pennant competition.
On Saturday, Hampton Park’s division-four team went to Narre Warren to play on a very slow 13.5 second green, which was not to the players’ liking.
The Parkers suffered a 57 shot loss (62-119) with Ray Wood, Lino Da Pos, Keith Damon and skip Robert Naismith fairing the best, going down by only four shots.
At home, the Parkers division-seven team had the reverse results in its game against Pakenham.
Winning margins of three, 12, 14 and 27 shots, gave Hampton Park 18 points plus 56 shots up (126-70).
Sunday was the flip-flop of Saturday, with division four playing at home to Noble Park, winning on three of the four rinks.
Rink one was up by nine, rink two by 10, rink three by 14 and rink four came back to go down by seven.
Hampton Park 16-109 to Noble Park 2-83.
The division-seven team was badly weakened with six players having to be replaced for the game against Noble Park on its greens.
As a result, the Parkers suffered a bit of a mauling, going down overall by 60 shots (65-125).
Dot Carr, Gail Wilcock, Heather Naismith and skip Bill Webb fought their game out to the finish, going down by only four shots.
