Finals frenzy

WITH one round of pennant remaining to play next week, Berwick teams continue to fight to maintain their position on the ladder and the chance to play finals.
The number two side should maintain top spot after Saturday’s round while the number one and four sides are in third place on the ladder and our sixth side in fourth position.
Berwick Bowling Club’s first three sides scored very convincing wins over sides from Hampton, Vermont South and Noble Park respectively.
The sixth side had to fight hard all afternoon against a determined Cranbourne side – with three rinks having only one shot difference between them – to finally come out winners in division five.

@BT Sub Sport News:PAIRS FINALS

The finals of the Casey and Peninsula Pairs were held at Frankston last Sunday with some outstanding bowling witnessed by an appreciative crowd of supporters. Berwick Bowling Club was represented in both the ladies and men’s finals.
Spectators were treated to some brilliant bowling with the ladies pair of Joan Heggart and Kate Goonan winning the final in grand style. The pair will now go on to represent the region in the state final to be held in Bendigo.
The men’s pair of Peter Clavarino and Cliff Walker won their semi-final and fought hard in their final to be even halfway through their match, but were not able to hold on to win.
