Parkers shine all round

FOR the first time this season the Hampton Park Bowls Club had something to celebrate with all six sides recording wins and it all started on Tuesday with both division two and three scoring big wins.
Division two played Dandenong RSL/ Rec at Burden Park and picked up 16 points plus a huge 75 shots. On rink nine, the team snuck in by three shots while the other rinks had whopping wins by 36 shots and 38 shots respectively.
Division three played at home against Mordialloc and won 16 points plus 44 shots. The spread was pretty even with wins of 9 shots, 11 shots and 24 shots.
In the Electric Light competition, the Parkers picked 12 points plus 16 shots in their win against Ashburton at Keysborough. Geoff Ampt’s rink won by one shot on the last end and Geoff Lardner’s rink had a very nice 14-shot win. On Saturday, Division three played a do-or-die game against Keysborough, with the Parkers picking up 16 points plus 23 shots. A decisive 18-shot win was followed by a tight two-shot win, with the remaining rinks splitting the results, winning by 10 shots and going down by 7 shots.
Division five played away at Caulfield Park and picked up 17 points plus 42 shots. A win by 15 shots was followed by a draw while the day was capped off by a whopping 23-shot win and a hard fought win by four shots.
Division seven played on the lower green, getting 16 points plus 40 shots in their win against Elsternwick Club. Allan Unwin’s rink got home by 17 shots while Ray Wood and his rink had a great 27-shot win. Ray Leggett and friends won by 11 shots while Gail and Alan Wilcock were part of a 15-shot win.
This Saturday is the last round of home and away games for pennant, with our Division five and seven sides looking forward to playing in the finals. There are three more rounds of Tuesday pennant to go with the Division two side looking at playing finals while our Division three side must win all its final games for a chance at the finals.
