SUPPORTING children with disabilities is something the centre management at Westfield Fountain Gate takes very seriously.
Last Saturday, about $3000 was raised for the Yooralla Narre Warren Central Children’s Centre.
Volunteers from Westfield and Yooralla got behind the worthy cause, with a variety of activities, a raffle and a spinning wheel to entertain shoppers.
The Give Ability Day is a national campaign being run by Westfield, where money is raised for local charities.
Yooralla in Narre Warren has partnered with Westfield Fountain Gate before, but this was the biggest fundraiser for the children’s centre.
Previously, Fountain Gate management has raised funds for the centre that has gone towards new playground equipment and a safer, rubber walkway for children in wheelchairs.
Other fundraisers have helped pay for the pre-school to have incursions, where puppeteers and other child entertainers visit for an afternoon.
Centre management was overjoyed with the response from shoppers and was looking forward to seeing how the funds would be used by Yooralla.
Kenny’s Cardiology was also actively involved in the fundraiser, and Dominic’s Hairdressing have helped raise money for past three years.
