THE school captain of the Narre Warren South P-12 College received a prestigious award at the VCAA State VCAL Achievement Awards last week.
School Captain Ashlee Leitch received the VCAL Achievement Award for Outstanding Achievement at intermediate level in 2010. The award recognises the best VCAL student in Victoria at intermediate level last year.
VCAL Co-ordinator Kelly Lackmann was also honoured for her outstanding leadership and teaching by winning the 2010 VCAL Teacher of the Year. Ms Lackmann has worked on the VCAL program since 2006.
Senior School Assistant Principal Rob Duncan congratulated them on their achievements.
“Our VCAL program at Narre Warren South P-12 College is acknowledged as an outstanding example of applied learning and among the very best programs in the state. This is a credit to the students and staff who have been part of this program since its inception at our college in 2006,” Mr Duncan said.
“Our most recent winners are to be congratulated on maintaining the high standards of this program.”
Mr Duncan said Narre Warren South P-12 had won 10 state awards in the past five years for its high quality program.
Over 200 students are studying a VCAL Certificate at Narre Warren South this year.
