NOMINATIONS are open for Casey’s most prestigious award for the arts.
The Lindsay King Initiative is named after the late Lindsay King, whose vigorous commitment to the arts and passion for local history, tourism and culture made a positive and enduring impact on the local arts community.
In 2011 this honour will be awarded in two categories – Visual Arts and Performing Arts- to individuals who have made a significant contribution to the development of the arts in the City of Casey.
City of Casey Mayor Shar Balmes encourages residents to nominate someone who contributes to the arts in Casey.
“Lindsay King made a vigorous commitment to the arts, local history, tourism and culture, and passionately shared his skills and abilities with the community,” Cr Balmes said.
“Through the annual Lindsay King Arts Initiative Award, council and the community have the opportunity to acknowledge and recognise someone who has made a valuable contribution to the arts in Casey.”
Nominations close at 5pm on 27 June.
