THE Steiner philosophy has a deep understanding of child development on soul, spiritual and social levels as well as intellectual and physical growth. Every effort is made to cultivate a sense of truth, beauty and goodness within each child and allow them to develop their individual gifts out of themselves.
Steiner education fosters the connection between seasonal cycles, caring for the earth and the inner child. As children experience the goodness of nature in this way their inner life and character is embellished. A magical time is facilitated for children to revel in the imagination and creativity of childhood. Nothing is rushed or hurried to meet popular trends. Instead, childhood is honoured and children have the opportunity to bloom as nature’s cycles intended.
Artistic endeavour, music, craft, movement, farming, singing and storytelling are beautifully woven into the curriculum along with traditional key learning disciplines.
The Dandenong Ranges Steiner School is planning to open a new campus in Narre Warren East in 2006. Currently it is situated in the nearby rural foothills of Menzies Creek.
It provides a wonderful environment in which the above attributes can be nurtured. The small class sizes also create a warm sense of community spirit and meaningful social friendships. Inquiries on 5968 4382.
