THE 25th annual Berwick Highland Gathering will be raising money for people affected by recent floods.
The Rotary Club of Narre Warren will be hosting the event, in rain or shine, this Saturday from 9am until 5pm.
Rotary member Simon Hall said the event would be held at Akoonah Park, Berwick, and the group has a wet weather plan in place in case the weather isn’t on their side.
Mr Hall said there were a number of events for people of all ages to enjoy.
“We have 15 bands in the pipe band competition this year, which is a large number,” he said.
“We have a vintage car display for the first time, with 15 cars to turn up on the day. We have Scottish Heavy Games that is a lot of fun to watch at the end of the day. There will be a fly ball dog competition, highland dancing displays, Scottish folk dancing, black and white dog show with Scottish Terriers and West Highland dogs, and much more.”
The event costs $5 for adults, $3 for pensioners and concession and free for kids.
Mr Hall said some of the proceeds would go to disaster funds for people affected by Cyclone Yasi, fires, and floods in the City of Casey.
There will also be donation points throughout the event.
