New name, same aim

NARRE Warren Chamber of Commerce will now be known as the Narre Warren Region Business Group.
The name change was voted in at a special general meeting held yesterday.
Narre Warren Region Business Group president Ross Neilson said the change was necessary to reflect the wider reach of the group.
“We’re trying to represent businesses in the Narre Warren region and found the name was painting the wrong picture,” he said.
Mr Neilson said the previous name identified with businesses located in Webb Street.
“Although we think Webb Street is very important, Narre Warren also has the Homemaker Centre and Casey Central.”
The group hopes the new name will reflect its desire to serve a wider interest in the local business community.
The next Narre Warren Region Business Group networking evening will be held on 16 February at the Narre Warren Bowls Club.
Members and prospective members are welcome.
