SANTA Claus wasn’t deterred by rain and an overcast sky when he visited Pakenham on Saturday.
Santa was in town with friends Rosa Santo of Mama Rosa Pizza Ristorante and Central Ward councillor Collin Ross.
Riding a horse and buggy from Tynong’s Mill Valley Ranch, Santa handed out lollies to the young – and the young at heart.
“It went so well that Safeway approached me to do it bigger next year. The weather was miserable, but we had people coming out and chasing the horse and buggy,” Ms Santo said.
Santa went up and down Main Street and visited both major supermarkets.
Ms Santo said Safeway and Coles donated lollies.
“Considering the weather, it was sensational,” she said.
Anyone who took photos of Santa Claus is asked to bring them to Mama Rosa Pizza Ristorante or Safeway for a competition early in 2011.
