STRAWBERRY jams, apricot jams and even a mixture of rhubarb, blueberry and apple jams will be sold for a good cause this weekend.
Casey Manor Aged Care residents who have dementia have been exercising their minds by making a range of jams from home-grown produce.
They will be selling the jams at Narre Warren South Foodworks on Saturday and the money will go towards producing more vegetables and fruits so they can continue the activity next year.
The Lifestyle and Leisure co-ordinator Debbie Akister said making the jams has sparked a lot of interest and has brought back many memories for some of the residents.
“It’s about bringing past a back interest.
“Many of them have a lot of experience and even though they can’t remember what day it is, they remember back to when they are younger and made jam,” Ms Akister said.
“They are over the moon with the finished product.”
Casey residents can buy the jams from 10am until 2pm, at Foodworks on Ormond Road, Narre Warren South.
