Endeavour Hills McDonald’s on Heatherton Road sold 895 Big Macs and received almost $2000 in donations during its annual McHappy Day.
One hundred per cent of the proceeds will go towards the Ronald McDonald House, which accommodates families of children who are undergoing treatment in hospital.
Endeavour Hills McHappy Day event manager Renee Mills said the day was a success.
“I think the weather was a minor deterrent, but we managed to raise a lot of money on the day and everyone enjoyed themselves,” she said.
“We had face painting, plastic moulds for the kids to paint, a raffle, jelly beans guess, and visits from the Endeavour Hills police department, Dandenong Rangers players and Narre Warren North CFA. A band called Tyrian Dawn played an acoustic set for us, we had a DJ, and Glen Eagles students came down to volunteer.”
Ms Mills said McDonald’s would continue to raise money this month by selling crazy straws and Byron Bay cookies. Ten cents from every McHappy Meal sold will also go towards the Ronald McDonald House.
