Kinder upgrades

KINDERGARTENS in Casey could receive a funding boost if the Labor Party is re-elected, Narre Warren South MP Judith Graley said last week.
Ms Graley said, if re-elected, she would work with the local council and kindergarten committees of management to help local kindergartens such as Gwendoline and Littlecroft access funding from Labor’s $100million package for kinder upgrades.
She said if the Labor Party was re-elected, grants of up to $300,000 would be available for at least 335 kinders to expand facilities to meet growing demand.
“Kinder is an important step in a child’s development and I know being able to access quality kinder programs is important to local families,” she said.
She said, if re-elected, the Labor Party would also provide a further $20 million for more children’s centres and 800 scholarships for early childhood professionals to upgrade their qualifications.
