Big winner keeps working

By BEN CAMERON

A CARDINIA Shire man has vowed to keep working despite his family winning $1.4m in Saturday night’s Tattslotto draw.
It’s Pakenham Newsxpress’ second big lotto winner in less than a year after the married man won $1,474,559.33 in Division One after purchasing the System 9 ticket from the Main Street newsagency earlier in the day.
He was one of three winners to share in the $4.3m prize pool.
The winner, who wished to remain anonymous, said it would help his family’s “work-life balance”.
“I couldn’t stop working because I’d get bored, but I won’t have to work so hard now!” he said.
“I’ll be able to spend more time with my family and help out some family members with the prize money as well. I can’t wait to tell my wife!”
The other tickets were purchased in South Melbourne and New South Wales.
Store manager Christine Hateley said it followed a big win in November last year in the Superdraw.
“They were both local people,” she said.
“It was the Superdraw so you usually have a lot more winners.
“From memory, last year I think they won just under a million.”
