The Pakenham and Nar Nar Goon Fire Brigade attended a call for a leaking gas main after construction workers accidentally hit a pipe at 74 Princes Highway, Pakenham.
Pakenham CFA second lieutenant Phillip Craig said there was no threat to the community.
“We secured the scene and made it safe while waiting for the arrival of the gas company to fix the leak,“ Mr Craig said.
The incident occurred on Tuesday 29 March at about 4pm.
