Cardinia’s Foundation (Prep) students celebrated 100 days of school this week by taking part in a string of 100-themed activities.
At Pakenham Consolidated School, all students and teachers celebrated the Preps’ 100 days of learning with a huge banner at assembly in the morning, and students paraded around the school wearing crowns, sunglasses and flags that they made themselves.
To finish off the festivities, the whole year level threw a party.
“Any celebration needs a party!” said Marie Wigzell, the Grade 3 and 4 co-ordinator.
At John Henry Primary School, the inaugural Prep class celebrated with a whole school parade and cupcake decorating.
The Foundation students were also asked to bring 100 ‘things’ to school, such as 100 buttons or 100 grains of rice.
Foundation teacher Claire Van Lambaart said the celebrations were extra exciting “as they are the first group of Foundation students to start school at our brand-new school primary school“.
