DEVON Meadows batted well above their weight in the quarter final Twenty20 match against Kooweerup, but came up 65 runs short as the Demons marched into the top four.
Kooweerup batted first and Devon Meadows dropped a few tough chances, one off Peter Zauner and another from Lucas Carroll, early in the innings to give a lifeline to the Demons.
Michael Giles (24), Chris O’Hara (24) and Travis Canavan all got starts, but didn’t kick on as the Panthers rallied.
A late surge from Matt Bright, who hit 12 off the last over, got the Demons to 135.
In reply Devon Meadows lost too many top-order wickets early to rally for the total, with Jason Holman and Alex Travaglia departing quickly and generally gaining no momentum along the way.
Devon Meadows was all out for 70.
