IT was all smiles at the student organised Show Day at Narre Warren North Primary School last Friday.
Students, teachers and students got into the spirit of the occasion and did their part towards making it a success.
The school grounds were dotted with stalls and rides, with activities that included a haunted house, wii, a jumping castle and sponging.
There were showbags and food stalls, as well as a silent auction of donated goods.
Principal Connie vanderVoort said the children, particularly the Grade 6s, really got involved in organising and contributing to the day, which made about $3000.
“The Grade 6 students raised about $1500, which will go towards their big day out and graduation,” she said.
“All the other grades had a stall and the children made up the activities themselves.”
The event has always been a big day in the school’s calendar.
Ms vanderVoort said the success of the show has really made it an enjoyable community event, which is what really matters.
“Leading up to the show, the children can’t wait for it – just the anticipation for the show day to come, there’s such a buzz in the air,” she said.
“For us, the moneymaking isn’t the big thing for us – the biggest aim for this is the community involvement and we really did get huge support for the day.”
